Ramen
Ramen is a noodle soup that was originally imported to Japan from China. Ramen noodles are about as thin as spaghetti, and are served in a soup that varies based on region, city and even a specific vendor. Ramen is probably my favorite asian soup!
Katsu Kare
The usual ingredients added in Japanese curry include potatoes, carrots, onions and meat. The sauce itself is usually made from curry powder or roux, which is a of a blend of basic Indian spices. A example of the Japanese curry is katsu kare, which is a dish of regular Japanese curry rice plus a piece of deep-fried pork cutlet put on top.
Tempura
| Tempura consists of seafood, vegetables, mushrooms, or meat coated with batter and then deep fried. It has a light, but crispy texture, that may be seasoned with salt or dipped in a light sauce before eating. It is one of Japan's most favored dish. |
| Tonkatsu |
| Tonkatsu are deep fried pork cutlets. Tonkatsu is usually served accompanied by shredded cabbage or on top of cooked rice. It is also a common addition to Japanese curry rice (katsu kare above) |
Sashimi
Sashimi is raw seafood. A large number of fish can be enjoyed raw if they are fresh and prepared correctly!
Sushi
The term sushi refers to any dish that contains rice, cooked white rice flavored with seasoned rice vinegar. There are various kinds of sushi dishes. Sushi is the most famous Japanese dish outside of Japan, and one of the most popular dishes among the Japanese themselves, or course.
